E7FF Rules

E7FF (Bosnia and Herzegovina Flora & Fauna, prefix E7) is the national WWFF program. E7FF follows the WWFF Global Rules. Where WWFF updates its rules, the latest WWFF version prevails.

1) Participants

  • Activators: licensed amateurs operating portable from within a valid WWFF/E7FF reference area.
  • Hunters: licensed amateurs contacting activators in a reference area.
  • SWL: short‑wave listeners who log activations.

2) References & Activation Area

  • Only references listed in the WWFF Directory are valid. Each reference uses DXCC-FF-#### (e.g., E7FF‑0001).
  • One reference at a time. Where an area is nested within a larger protected area, use the inner reference. On borders, announce and log the correct reference with care.
  • Operating location: all station components (antenna, transceiver, power, etc.) must be entirely within the reference boundary. Operation from a motor vehicle or a building is permitted if it lies inside the boundary.
  • Marine/aquatic parks: when the activation zone is water only, all equipment must remain on the vessel.

3) Permitted / Prohibited Operation

  • Not allowed: aeronautical mobile above a reference; QSOs via repeaters, IRLP, Echolink; remote stations; automated contacts not personally initiated and completed by both operators in real time.
  • Allowed: satellite operation (e.g., QO‑100) in accordance with licence conditions and band plans.
  • Power: any source may be used; green power is encouraged.
  • Valid exchange: both callsigns, a signal report, and where possible the reference number.

4) Time Limits

There is no minimum duration for an activation and no minimum interval between repeat activations, subject to park regulations and opening times.

5) Activator Rules

  • Access & compliance: the activator is responsible for lawful access and adherence to all laws and park rules; use authoritative sources and mapping tools to verify boundaries.
  • Calling: “CQ WWFF / CQ Parks / CQ 44” is encouraged; activators should briefly explain the program to new hunters.
  • QSO threshold: 44 QSOs qualify an activation for WWFF activator awards; the 44 may be accrued over multiple activations of the same reference.
  • Counting:
    • The same chaser callsign on a different band or mode counts separately.
    • The same chaser on different dates counts separately.
    • Contacts where a station moves between portable and mobile remain valid.
    • Club/vanity/special‑event calls used by the same chaser are acceptable.
  • Courtesy & safety: do not disturb other park users; avoid hazards (e.g., guy lines), represent the amateur community well, liaise with park officials as needed. Leave no trace; pack out everything you bring.
  • Risk: participation is at the activator’s own risk; the program accepts no liability.

6) Logs (Submission & Format)

  • Submission is required to claim a reference. Electronic logs only: ADIF or the WWFF CSV template.
  • Activators send logs to the E7FF national log manager for upload to WWFF Logsearch; activators do not upload directly.
  • Vetting/finality: check your log; aside from technical upload fixes, submissions are final.
  • File naming: callsign@referenceYYYYMMDD (e.g., E7ABC@E7FF-0123_20250115.adi).
  • Under‑44 logs: submit even if you did not reach 44 QSOs; these count for hunters and for future accrual toward 44 for the same reference.
ADIF fields (summary):
  • Required: CALL, QSO_DATE, TIME_ON, BAND, MODE.
  • Station/Operator: STATION_CALLSIGN (on‑air call), OPERATOR (operator’s home call).
  • Reference: MY_SIG = WWFF, MY_SIG_INFO = E7FF-####.
  • Park‑to‑Park: SIG = WWFF, SIG_INFO = chaser’s WWFF reference.

7) Hunter Rules

  • A hunter QSO counts only when the activator’s log is uploaded to WWFF Logsearch.
  • All such QSOs are valid for hunters irrespective of the activator’s total QSO count, provided the QSO is logged correctly and uploaded.
  • QSL cards are not required for WWFF awards.
  • Keep overs concise: exchange callsign, report, and (if possible) the reference number.

8) Frequencies

Recommended WWFF calling areas (observe local band plans; no frequency is “owned”):

  • Phone: 3.744, 7.144, 14.244, 18.144, 21.244, 24.944, 28.444
  • CW: 3.544, 7.024, 10.124, 14.044, 18.084, 21.044, 24.894, 28.044
  • Digital: use appropriate regional allocations.

9) Tracking & Awards

Use WWFF Logsearch to track activator/hunter/SWL progress. Global WWFF awards are issued electronically and are free; awards are based solely on Logsearch data.

10) Conduct & Compliance

Participants must know and follow these rules. In case of breaches, contacts or activations may be voided and sanctions may apply.
