Ljevčanski knez, also known as Popov orah, is one of the largest and most valuable walnut trees in the Republic of Srpska. It is located in Nova Topola near Gradiška, with a protected zone extending 50 meters around the tree.

Ljevčanski knez, also known as Popov orah, is located in Nova Topola near Gradiška. Many people have heard of it, but not everyone knows that it is one of the largest walnut trees of its kind in the Republic of Srpska. The tree is especially known for its wide crown and very strong trunk, which makes it one of the most valuable examples of this species in the area. According to experts, it is a tree of exceptional quality, and despite its age, it remains in very good health. It is also important to mention that the tree does not pose any danger to its surroundings, which further confirms its vitality and good condition.
The tree is located in Nova Topola, near the former parish house, where the Police Station is located today, and close to the “Petar Kočić” Elementary School. More precisely, it stands on the border of cadastral plots 1223/6 and 1224 in the Cadastral Municipality of Nova Topola, according to the new survey. The protected area includes a 50-meter zone around the tree, so visitors and radio amateurs planning an activation are advised to behave carefully and responsibly in its immediate surroundings.
